Yesterday we shared some wonderful boyish layouts created with girlish products...and today, in honor of Father's Day, we're going 100% masculine...for the special men in your life.
Thanks to these three lovely ladies:
(Designers Stacey Michaud, Jamie Harder and Jill Cornell)
We're bringing you two cards and a wall hanging...all easy to create before Father's Day rolls around on Sunday!
First, Stacey is going to take us through the steps to creating a Father's Day wall hanging using our Game On Collection.
Stacey says: "I love to create gallery walls in my home, especially those with interested elements such as monograms or small artifacts. I decided to make wall art celebrating my husband and his legacy. Our last name begins with an M and his favorite number is 11. What better way to say Happy Father’s Day then to display all things meaningful to him?
Step One: Start with a gallery frame that is divided into three or use three individual frames.
Step Two: Choose a monogram or a number that holds significance. I chose M for our last name.
Step Three: Print a letter M using the Impact font sized at 400.
Step Four: Cut the letter out and begin layering any patterned papers of your choice. I adhered the red solid, stripe and check to the M, then used a craft knife to trim the extra. Repeat with the numerals. Step Five: Use a ruler to ensure the elements are level. I wanted to place the red strip under the 11 to carry the pops of red all around the art.
I decided to build some simple and graphic art in the middle frame. Since I wanted a masculine feel, I used geometric shapes to build my art.
A little impact goes a long way, especially when this is placed on a wall of photos.
Stacey's wall hanging will come together quickly but carries so much meaning for the whole family.
Perhaps you've already picked out the perfect gift...why not create a handmade card to go along with it? Designer Jamie Harder's "Best Dad" card also features our Game On Collection.
Simple, masculine and easy to recreate, this card would be perfect atop any Father's Day gift!
Jill Cornell also shows off a clean and simple "Best Dad" card with the perfect pops of color.
Quick and easy but so, so beautiful.
Tell us...what are you creating for the special guy in your life?
