every mother
loves
adores
cherishes
their children.
but gosh...
it really hurts
how much
i
love
him. {& cali & jude!}
i wanted to create a page this week that reflects what's happening in our home this season. Dane is so proud to collect the "beautiful leaves for mommy" and collect as many acorns as he possibly can. He loves to bring them to me & anxiously awaits to see how excited I react to his new collection additions.
he makes my heart so full.
sooooo.....my assignment was to scraplift...hum...I took the lift from Steph & Lucy! BIG shoes to fill but I wanted to try. I loved this assignment.
i wanted to use some of dane's personal collection of leaves & acorns to embellish this page.
i wanted to keep it feeling like him.
raw
simple
and
beautiful.
i really enjoyed using personal items to embellish this week & i LOVED using Steph & Lucy's page as a lift. Thanks so much Ladies!
does this inspire anyone to embellish with any of the items that inspire you to create your pages? You could use your children's artwork, first date movie ticket stubs, etc...what other ideas can we embellish with? We will be selecting a lucky comment for our GIVEAWAY this week...since this page is so minimal with embellishments, this week's winner can select TWO embellishments of their choice from our online catalog. Oooooooo! Fun! :o)
~Brandin xo
p.s....all of your comments left last week were incredibly heart warming. All throughout the week I was reading them over & over. xo
I love to embellish with Memorabilia-I feel it helps to tell the story! For example, I saved a couple of tickets from my daughters' 7th Birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's, along with some of the paper goods (plates, etc.) to cut up and use for their scrapbook! You made a great page for your son,, and what a memory to treasure!

Love the layout... I'm always a fan of the slightly grungy look.
I always keep my admission tickets, boarding passes, bank receipts and the like whenever a take a vacation. I love to tuck them into a little corner of my layouts. I've even got a couple of reusable metro passes and some foreign money 'stored' in my scrapbooks. I'll know exactly where to find them if I ever return to the country where I got them!

In my wedding album on the page for my bridesmaids I used a piece of material their dresses were made out of as the background. It is still one of my favourite pages. Using things like that give the page even more meaning.

Love this one, so rustique and boyish! And love how you used the leaves, my daughter has been hoarding them for the last few weeks and I need to find a way to use them :)
I love using receipts, tags from clothes, old fabrics, treasures from my mother's sewing box and so on. Using those kinds of things makes my scrapbooking personal:)
And by the way... Your boy is gorgeous <3

Wow, Brandin, you are no longer in the beginner category! This LO is not only beautiful but so heartwarming! I like to add a special little item that is personal to a page that wasn't necessarily meant to be a scrapping item.

OMG! I think this one has got to be my favorite LO of yours so far. The coloring of the photo, the bloomers, the natural, outdoorsy quality to it's all just plain FANTASTIC! I got teary eyed reading your comments and the journaling (you have such a way about you with your journaling...so expressive and emotional!) Your son reminds me so much of my Alex. He too has a facination w/leaves and acorns. He keeps his collection in a shoebox under his bed. :-) Thank you for sharing such a personal, sentimental piece of yourself and family.

I have been making cards, but am going to start scrapping after the holidays. Have been collecting little things along the way in a bag, so maybe it's time to see what I can put together. Love your page...so perfect for the gifts to mom!

Love your layout--you son is precious! LOVE using ephemera on my pages. I like using maps that we used on vacation for backgrounds for travel pages.

I loved your picture of the little guy....precious! You using the organic elements...his found objects, was a wonderful choice. It inspired me to do a page I have thought about doing for a long time....with those precious found objects. I also used one of my many Unity stamp sets! Great timing! Thank you for the inspiration!
