Hey Brandin! I can't believe you are already on to week 10!! I'm so impressed with your papercrafting journey!!
This weeks assigment is to Scraplift a layout that inspires you.
There are only a couple of rules to a proper scraplift......always ask permission and be sure to give credit to the designer in your comments. Lifting elements of the design or layout are fine, or it can just be the style of the designer.
Scraplifting gives you an unique opportunity to experiment with your style by playing with bits and pieces of what inspire you and letting you add your personal twist to it. It allows you to try other styles to see what feels natural to you.
We on the Webster's Pages Design Team always love doing the monthly guest designer lifts. It's so much fun!
For this week - I wanted to play along with you.....I chose a layout from the inspireMe gallery that has been in my favorites for a long time.....my good friend and fellow design team member, Steph Devlin's "Shy". Steph always inspires me and this layout was simple and striking, I wanted to lift some of the main elements that really stood out to me: the paint, the hybrid frames, and simple design.
My layout wasn't as clean as Steph's, but I always try to add my own look to any scraplift I do. :)
And this was an fun time to play with some of the new Webster's Pages Digital Goodies!!
I used the digital frames from Life's Portraits and the houndstooth paper from Hollywood Vogue - printed onto a transparency to let the layers show through. I also extracted the black and turquoise vines from Hollywood Vogue. When mixed with the papers from Waiting for Santa - it was a gorgeous combination.
A great place to get started is the gallery at inspireMe.....it's full of inspiring projects!
Hope you have a great time playing with paper this week!
Wow! Gorgeous layout and lift! Simply beautiful!

I've always admired Steph's "Shy" LO too! It's such a stirring, emotional piece. You did a great job on your scraplift, Lucy! You've inspired me to take more pics!!! The opportunities to capture those fantastic candid shots that really move someone are so rare! The second my flash goes off, the kids just cheese it up staring right at the camera and I can't get them to go back to what they'd been doing. lol
This is a fantastic assignment. I can't wait to see what Brandin comes up with...and in what way she choses to scraplift a project. I'm sure it will be amazing!

This is the first assignment given to Brandin that I actually have some advice! When you find a layout you want to scraplift, try to identify what it is about the layout that you like. Sometimes it is a stunning photograph, sometimes it is the way the layout is laid out, sometimes it is the colour - it can be a thousand things. So you have to take the time to figure out what it is that you like about it and use the answers to help prepare for your own take on the project.

What a great assignment that is! And Lucy, your take on Steph's page is gorgeous! You can see you were inspired by Steph's layout, but you can still see a lot of 'Lucy-touches' on here:)
