One thing we love around here is versatility. Sometimes, it's easy to look at a collection of papers and see only one thing. One theme. One gender. One way to use the product.
But a GREAT way to stretch your creativity is to do the unexpected. Today, three of our designers are turning the unexpected on its ear to create masculine pages using traditionally feminine products.
Nina Ostermann, Emma Trout and Jaz Lee are masters at this creativity stuff...so keep scrolling for TONS of inspiration.
First up, Nina's take:
Nina chose to highlight her little boy photo using minimal Clean and Simple papaers, but notice how she also incorporated the doilies at the top for added pop.
We love that her "arrows" are sewn down the center with the ends still popping up ever so slightly. The dimension is such a fun look!
Emma Trout went full on pink for this gorgeous page featuring a photo of...you guessed it...a boy!
Boys don't often wear pink, but by converting the image to black and white, Emma was able to make lots of pink work on this page.
And her embellishments are incredible.
Emma dabbed Gesso onto her mini princess petal and dried it using a heat tool. This experimenting led to a happy accident whent he petals crinkled and shrunk forming some very interesting shapes!
The results are pure perfection!
And Jaz Lee is sharing a boyishly wonderful layout that she's teaching at her scrapbooking store in Singapore. If you're in the area (lucky ducks!) you can check it out for yourself HERE.
We sure would love to know Jaz's secrets for creating gorgeous, layered layouts every single time!
Even though the Sunday Picnic collection might not scream "boy!" it sure works for this layout!
The truth is, when it comes to creativity and art...anything goes! So find something you love and capture the memories that matter most!
